Building Successful Learning Communities:WSU Extension trainings provide teachers with tools that build safe and supportive learning communities, allowing students to develop social emotional intelligence and build healthier relationships with peers and adults.
The WSU Spokane Campus offers this cohort program in Wenatchee. The field-based program has several unique features that significantly enhance its effectiveness in preparing educational leaders.
The cohort model provides participants with the opportunity to develop a close professional network.
The two-year internship completed in conjunction with the classroom seminars allows participants to integrate issues and concepts discussed in class with practical experience in the school setting.
Faculty members have extensive experience as school principals and/or central office administrators.
Participant performance is documented in a portfolio which serves as a permanent record of individual activities and accomplishments
